The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course designed in association with Tony Jacklin. As the lead landscape designer for the Landscape Design Services arm of Nicklaus Design, Bob Graves, now owner of Carex Design Group, led the landscaping efforts for this award-winning golf course. A large part of the work on this project was wetland creation and reclamation. In addition, the design dictated the addition of thousands of pine trees and hundreds of thousands of native grasses to reinforce the natural Florida eco-system of grasslands, pine forests and palmetto bluffs.
“The Concession provides an old-Florida experience of saw-grass savannahs, palmetto thickets and hammocks of massive oaks mantled in Spanish moss, all seemingly untouched since the days of Seminole.”
