With the days growing shorter as we make our way to football season, pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, I’ve had more clients asking about adding landscape lighting to their landscape designs in Knoxville. Over the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing my favorite landscape lighting fixtures in this three-part series. First up, is the In-Lite recessed landscape light I used in a recent landscape design.
I love the In-Lite recessed landscape lights we used on this recent project with our friends at Magnolia Landscape Construction because the fixtures present a myriad of creative design and installation options. We worked with the Magnolia team to create this paver patio design (pictured below) featuring landscape lighting to brighten the space. We gave the patio an organic shape to tuck the hardscaping into a nearby mature tree so we could highlight the natural wooded surroundings of this lake property.
With the organic aesthetic, we didn’t want the lighting the look too formal so we used the In-Lite recessed landscape lights, which provide create small, tight beams of light pointing straight up from the paver walkway and patio. The result was an artistic solution to lighting a very dark lake house property.
Although the design may look random, we had an intentional plan. We wanted the lights to look like a starry sky rather than a structured airport runway or parking lot. The natural look of the lighting coordinates well with the design, blending the landscaping with the natural elements of the woods and lake.
