We’ve worked with some amazing clients and landscaping contractors this year in Knoxville and the surrounding communities. From a pool party pavilion to a serene outdoor living space and a working horse farms to countless patios, here are some of our favorites:

Kid-Approved Backyard Party Place

Fire Bowl

This client wanted to have a fun backyard where he could spend quality family time with his young daughter. Although he already had the pool, we did a backyard landscaping makeover that included adding a pavilion, paver pool deck and coping, plants, landscape lighting and a two-zone irrigation system.

One of the downsides of working during the summer on a yard with a pool (aside from the allure of wanting to jump in the pool instead of working on 100 degree days!) is that it’s hard to keep the pool in working order for the homeowners. Because it was important to this client that he have use of the pool while we were working, we made a point of cleaning up every day, keeping debris out of the pool and staging materials out of the way. Additionally, we worked with the contractor to install the paver pool deck in just a few days to help avoid interruption.

paver pool deck and pavilion

Our favorite components of this design are the pavilion and dramatic landscape lighting. The pavilion makes the space functional even when the weather isn’t perfect, and the landscape lighting looks beautiful even from inside the house.

Relaxing Backyard Oasis

Location: Farragut, Tenn.
Built by: Integrity Lawn and Landscaping
Referred by: Houzz Search (She loved our online reviews!)

Water Feature

The client started with a basic concrete patio, which was overwhelmed by a large Magnolia tree. She had a few small things on her wish list — sitting area with shade, water feature and landscape lighting — but she asked us to run with the design.

Paver Walkway

In the end, our client had a beautiful space that included a paver patio, pergola, water feature, landscape lighting, a paver walkway and more.

Horse Stables

Location: Louisville, Tenn.
Built by: Integrity Lawn and Landscaping and The Lawn Butler
Referred by: Existing Client

Paver Driveway

This was Carex Design Group’s largest project of the year at nearly four-acres of designed space.

Initially, we created conceptual hand graphics and a 3-D landscape design that not only helped bring to life the conceptual design, but also helped the client figure out what external features they’d use for the existing barn such as stone veneer, board and batten siding, and guttering.

The client also retained our services to manage a large portion of the landscape construction process.

Fire Pit, Paver Patio and Seat Wall

It was amazing to work on this project because we had so many different elements coming together. We designed a nearly 6,000 square foot paver driveway, outdoor kitchen and outdoor living area, as well as expansive irrigation, planting and low-voltage landscape lighting plans.

This project came together beautifully thanks to the help of Integrity Lawn and Landscaping on the driveway and The Lawn Butler who built the outdoor kitchen and living among other elements.

More 3-D Landscape Designs

We did more than 60 landscape designs this year so it was hard to narrow it down to just a few to share with you. Here are some of our other favorites …
