Although Bob and I miss out on having much outdoor space because we live small near our downtown Knoxville office, Bob is one landscape architect who loves living vicariously through our Knoxville landscape design clients. That’s especially true when it comes to shopping for cool outdoor products. Here’s a list of some favorite landscaping products to put on your holiday shopping list:
Scrambled, Fried or Over Easy? Get the Big Green Egg.
You may be living under a rock if you haven’t heard about the Big Green Egg. Our clients who use this outdoor cooking system are fanatics about the products. Bob loves it because it’s versatile with seven different sizes and so many options and accessories we can customize an outdoor kitchen to give clients exactly what they want. In fact, Bob recently designed a kitchen for a top-notch outdoor chef, using two Big Green Eggs in different sizes for various cooking options and techniques. The 2XL size will be used to cook large cuts of meat low and slow for great flavor, finishing the meat in the small size Egg for a hot sear. The Big Green Egg is an awesome choice for the outdoor cooking enthusiast in your family.
Who Needs a Gallery? Get Outdoor Art.
While landscape architects, designers and plant lovers often talk about specimen plants, which serve as a focal point in your planting bed, plants aren’t the only way to attract attention in your outdoor space. Our design team loves to use outdoor art pieces in Knoxville landscape designs to create unexpected beauty and creativity in a space. Whether it’s simple touches like decorative drains, silhouette bollards or focal point pieces, adding art in an outdoor space is a nice touch for any aesthete in your life.
For just the right metal art piece, we often turn to our good friend Tom Memminger, owner of Denovo Design. Although Tom’s beautiful metal work includes products for inside your home, we call on him for outdoor pieces such as railings.

Is It Getting Hot in Here? Find Out With Fire Features.
Bob likes to say fire features are nature’s television. When you’ve run out of Netflix from your quarantine binge-watching, head outside with one of these great fire features. You can opt for built in with a Zentro Steel Smokeless Fire Pit Insert from Breeo or choose the more versatile stand-alone Wood Burning Fire Pit globe. To gather your family with room for a feast, consider the Kenwood Linear Dining Height Gas Fire Pit Table. Whatever you choose, your family will be roasting chestnuts on an open fire this season and your holidays will be merry and bright (ok, I’ll stop now!).
