The thing that makes Carex Design Group one of the best residential landscape architecture firms in East Tennessee is our team of talented landscape designers. This month, we’re celebrating Landscape Designer Hailey Wright for her three-year anniversary with the firm.

Hailey has carved out a niche for herself among the Carex Design Group team as a valuable resource to our partner landscape construction companies that use our design services for their clients.

“Hailey has built wonderful relationships with many landscape contractors in Knoxville and the surrounding areas,” said Carex Design Group Owner and Landscape Architect Bob Graves. “She has a talent for providing comprehensive plans that provide a high-level of detail to ensure our partners have the information they need to build a design.”

Hailey has also received many accolades for her design work at Carex Design Group, including an award presented by Belgard for the Best Outdoor Living Oasis in 2023. Hailey’s design was for an Integrity Lawn and Landscape project in the Knoxville area. The project featured a cobblestone-inspired paver walkway leading to a patio and fire pit area near a natural-looking boulder waterfall breaking through a block retaining wall.

The built project of her design was recently featured in the 2025 Belgard product catalog, showcasing her inspirational use of the Belgian Cobble Paver from Belgard’s Heritage Collection as well as the Castlemanor Grana retaining wall block.

When Hailey first joined the team, she had experience with hand-drawn elevations and AutoCAD but wasn’t familiar with working in 3-D design software. Carex Design Group’s use of 3-D landscape design sets it apart from other residential landscape designers and contractors in and around Knoxville, so Hailey quickly learned to adapt her skillset.

“The transition of designing in a scaled 3-D space was a challenge to both my perspective as well as my spatial awareness,” said Hailey. “It was exciting to see what I needed to tweak in real time and use the tool to become a better landscape designer. Carex Design Group’s encouragement of professional development has kept me in the mindset of continually learning and improving my design technique.”

Hailey has completed countless landscape designs during her three years with the company, including the paver walkway and front porch pictured below. In the coming year, she plans to continue her award-winning work and gain more experience with native and naturalistic plant palettes.

Aside from her talents as a landscape designer, Hailey’s friendly personality and infectious positivity bring fun and entertainment to the office, where there’s never a dull moment as long as Hailey is around.
