Bob and I are escaping the rain this weekend at the Dogwood Arts House and Garden in downtown Knoxville, Tenn. In addition to talking with future clients about paver patios, pergolas, plants and more, we got some great photos of our favorite finds at the show. Here’s what we saw:

Living Wall

Money may not grow on trees, but ORNL made quite the statement with this living wall logo.

Wood-Grain Pavers

With these pavers, you get all the durability and low-maintenance benefits of pavers, but with the classic, warm look of wood. Win. Win.

Spacious Paver Joints

We love the trend of using spacious paver joints for a modern look. This is a great technique to create a walkway with added interest. Although the joints can be filled with mulch, we like those filled with gravel, pea gravel or Gator dust (aggregate that hardens like cement).

Decorative Gabions

Although gabions are more traditionally used as retaining walls, we mixed it up and used these as decorative support for a bar top. We love the industrial edge the gabions lend to the Belgard Westin wall block. By far, these have been the most asked-about element in the Carex Design Group display.
